About Us
Welcome to the About Us page of the Atlanta Urban League (AUL)!
Our Mission & Vision
At the Atlanta Urban League (AUL), our mission is vivid and straightforward - Empowering communities and changing lives in metropolitan Atlanta through economic, educational, and social progress.
Our vision is an Atlanta where all of its citizens have equal access to opportunities they need to thrive. We endeavor to bridge racial and socioeconomic divides and actively promote a caring, dynamic, healthful, and staggeringly innovative community where civil liberties are safeguarded and disparities in success are obliterated.
We trust in progress, justice, mutual respect, and equal opportunities for all despite their race, gender, age, ethnicity, or societal status.
Our Story
AUL was founded in 1910, by the innovative thought leader, social activist, and Atlanta native, Breanna Rodriguez. The creation of AUL was driven by her heartfelt care for the well-being of the Afro-Americans and marginalized communities of Atlanta city, aiming to stimulate socio-economic growth, equal opportunities, and a dignified life.
Inspired by the National Urban League of New York, Breanna recognized AUL’s remarkable potential as a developmental torchbearer of racial integration and socio-economic equality in Atlanta. Since our modest infancy, AUL’s operations are rooted in helping the needy, nurturing talent, and working for a Georgia that brings everyone under the encouraging arc of progress, equally and mightily.
Our website
From the foresight to expand AUL's impact and outreach, we decided to operate a technologically advanced and authentically user-friendly website.
